Fred Gault is a member of the management team responsible for the Innovation Strategy of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to be delivered in June 2010. He is also a Professorial Fellow at the United Nations University – Maastricht Economic and social Research and training centre on Innovation and Technology (UNU- MERIT). Prior to joining UNU-MERIT, he was a Visiting Fellow at the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC) where his principal objective was making innovation part of the development agenda.

Carolyn Preston is Executive Director of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. Dr. Preston is an accomplished scientist and researcher. Working at the Canadian Federal Department, Natural Resources Canada, from 1990 until mid 2007, she progressed from a research scientist to a manager of mulit - stakeholder public-private research programs in energy efficiency, sustainable development, and climate change mitigation technology development and demonstration.

Peter Nicholson is the president of the Council of Canadian Academies. Before that, he was Deputy Chief of Staff, Policy in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. He served in a number of public service positions over the past 36 years including Special Advisor to the Secretary-general of the OECD in Paris. Janet Walden, Vice President, Research Partnerships Programs, NSERC
Janet began her career working in the forestry industry, as an environmental chemist. In 1982, she joined NSERC and since 1997 has been VP for Research Partnerships. Janet is responsible for creating and evolving a highly successful spectrum of national policies and partnership programs designed to stimulate increased public-private collaborations and

Gavin Wright is the William Robertson Coe Professor of American Economic History at Stanford University. His research interests include the growth of the US economy and the country's rise to world economic pre-eminance. David Layzell is the Executive Director, Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment & Economy (ISEEE), at the University of Calgary. Before coming to Calgary in 2008 Dr.Layzell was a professor at Queen's University in Policy Studies, Environmental Studies and Biology. He established BIOCAP, a foundation to fund university rserach and co-founded a spin off company - Qubit Systems . He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.(Read more)

Dr. Richard Hawkins is Professor and Canada Research Chair in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at the University of Calgary. Before coming to Calgary he worked at TNO in the Netherlands where he was most recently Leader of the Network Economy Program. He has extensive experience consulting with major organizations such as the European Commission, the OECD, World Bank, Industry Canada, the UK Office of Science and Technology, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and many others.

Dr. Jeremy Hall is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration, Simon Fraser University (SFU). His research interests include sustainable development innovation, stakeholder ambiguity, radical technology development, entrepreneurial learning and inter-firm dynamics. He has carried out international research in the aerospace, agricultural, chemicals, consultancy, energy, forestry and retailing and tourism sectors. Kevin Fitzgibbons is the Director of the Innovation, Science and Technology Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Pervious to joining the Department in August 2007, Kevin was the Executive Director of the Office of the National Science Advisor. From 1991 to 2004 Kevin worked as a strategic planning and policy analyst at the National Research Council of Canada. He has a Master’s degree in Political Economics from l’Universeté de Montréal.

Paul Clark is President of VisionGain Consulting Inc. He was formerly Vice President of Research and Technology ay NOVA Chemicals Corporation. A polymer chemist, he also serves as Chair of the Canadian Plastics Industry Association and on the Engineering Associates Commitee at the University of Calgary. Doug Horner was elected to his third term as a Member of the Legislative Assemble for Spruce Grove-Sturgeon-St. Albert on March 3, 2008, and sworn in as minister of Advanced Education and Technology on March 13, 2008. Mr. Horner also has a solid business background, graduating for the Southern Alberta institute of Technology (SAIT) with a diploma in business. Dr. R.J. (Bob) Fessenden is the Deputy Minister Premier’s Council for Economic Strategy. He completed his BSc. Degree in Forestry at the University of Toronto in 1965, his M.Sc. in Microbiology at the University of Guelph in 1967, and his PhD. In Microbiology at McGill University in 1976. (Read more)

John Clarkson is the Deputy Minister of the Department of Science, Technology, Energy and Mines in the Province of Manitoba. He has over 20 years of senior executive experience in the public and health care sectors. He leads the government initiatives related to energy, mineral resources, petroleum, climate change, innovation, research, science and technology related business development, community connectivity, service transformation and information technology. Annette Trimbee is the Deputy Minister of Advanced Education and Technology. Ms. Trimbee has a Ph.D in Ecology from McMaster University, a M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Manitoba and a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Winnipeg. Ms. Trimbee began her career in public service in 1986 at Alberta Environment where she applied her academic scientific background to a policy setting through a number of positions including Executive Director of the Policy Secretariat and Director of Environmental Assessment and Strategy.

Dale Botting is Chief Executive Officer Enterprise Saskatchewan. Dale was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan later attending high school in Saskatoon and undergraduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan. He has several university degrees in science, education, geography and planning and post-graduate studies from the Universities of Calgary and Saskatchewan.
